Norwich Street residents invited neighbors, friends and relatives to ride decorated bicycles and golf carts in a parade Saturday, July 4, in Hilliard.
Norwich Township Fire Department Lt. Jeff Woodward, a Norwich Street resident, said his wife, Kristy, worked with other residents to coordinate the short parade between Columbia Street and Linda Road. It began at 10 a.m.
The 10-minute event replaced the city's traditional Independence Day parade, which was canceled because of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.
The annual parade typically lasts more than two hours and includes Norwich Street on its route between the Franklin County Fairgrounds and Roger A. Reynolds Municipal Park.
