A Texas-based collision-repair chain plans to set up shop in Reynoldsburg.
The city's planning commission unanimously approved a major site plan July 9 for a Caliber Collision location at 13985 Taylor Road SW.
The 16,100-square-foot body shop will be built on a 2.3-acre vacant site west of the Creekside at Taylor Square apartment complex, according to plans submitted to the city.
Plans call for exterior finishes of stone and EIFS, a cladding material that looks similar to stucco, with metal awnings and more than 30 parking spaces. The building will have five bays, each capable of holding several cars.
Founded in 1997, Caliber Collision operates more than 1,100 locations across 32 states, according to its website.
Although Caliber Collision has 28 locations in the northeastern and southwestern parts of the state, this will be its first in central Ohio.
The next planning commission meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Aug. 6 at City Hall, 7232 E. Main St.
