A Groveport woman died from injuries sustained in a single-vehicle crash that occurred at noon July 17 in the northbound lanes of Interstate 270 north of the Hamilton Road exit.
Carrin Wester, communications manager for the city of Gahanna, said the motorist, Alexandria N. Rhoades, 27, of Groveport was transported from the scene by Mifflin Township Fire Department paramedics to Grant Medical Center.
She died later that day of her injuries, according to Katie Logan, media relations manager for Ohio Health.
Wester said the investigation has determined distracted driving was a contributing factor in the crash.
She said the Gahanna Division of Police has been assisted in the investigation by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Accident Investigation Unit, Columbus Division of Police and the Ohio Department of Transportation.
She said I-270 remains the highest crash location within Gahanna’s boundaries.
