To say the ThisWeek Sports predictions panel started slow out of the box might be an understatement.
Only seven of the 13 on the panel posted winning records, including Week 1 leader John Hulkenberg, who went 11-4, one game better than Eric Frantz, managing editor of JJHuddle.com, and Andy Resnik. Among those finishing below .500 were last year’s champion, Scott Hennen, who was one of five to finish 7-8.
“I couldn’t have done worse if I hadn’t been trying,” said Hennen, who promised to inch closer to the top after this week.
Newcomer Jeff Stevenson seemed relieved at his 9-6 debut, but that feeling seems only temporary: “This week, I could go 12-3 or 3-12.”
The guess here is that it’s somewhere in between.
One note of interest: Only two of the 15 games we predicted this week were unanimous picks.
Enjoy Week 2!
