The girls golf teams from Grandview and Worthington Christian high schools and Columbus School for Girls competed in a Division II district tournament Oct. 2 at Darby Creek, but did not advance to state.

The top team and the top individual not on that team advanced to state Oct. 13 and 14 at Ohio State’s Gray Course.

Newark Catholic shot 346 to finish ahead of runner-up Fairbanks (374) and earn the team state berth. Worthington Christian (412) was third, followed by Grandview (416), CSG (418) and Lakewood (422).

Johnstown’s Gabby Thomas tied Newark Catholic’s Patricia Windholtz for medalist honors with a 79 and earned the individual qualifying spot.

Abigail Stevenson (99) led Worthington Christian, followed by Rena So (100) Anna Opava (105), Natalie Opava (108) and Zoe Holston (125).

Sophia Koester (96), Carolyn LaPrete (99), Jenna Richards (102) and Maura DiCuccio (119) competed for Grandview.

Kate Kramer shot an 85 for CSG, followed by Grayson Sokol (105), Caroline Kromalic (111), Isabella Minkin (117) and Vera Mehra (137).
