The Whitehall-Yearling High School football team will look to keep its MSL-Ohio title hopes alive when it plays host to Bexley on Friday, Oct. 13.

The Rams improved to 4-3 overall and 2-1 in the league with a 40-23 win at Liberty Union on Oct. 6.

Bexley fell to 0-7 overall with a 56-0 loss at Teays Valley on Oct. 6. The Lions, who won the MSL-Ohio title last season at 7-0, are 0-3 in the league.

Coach Rod Lightfoot said Bexley will be motivated for the rivalry game.

"They're going to be up (for the game), too," he said. "They may be winless, but we are their biggest rival and they're our biggest rival, so we can't take anything for granted. We know they're going to give us everything they have. We're in no position to be complacent."

London leads the league at 3-0 and plays host to the Rams on Oct. 27.

Against Liberty Union, quarterback Raymell Byrd rushed for 138 yards and three touchdowns and passed for 88 yards and two scores.

For the season, Byrd has rushed for 975 yards and 10 touchdowns and completed 45 of 97 passes for 701 yards with six touchdowns and two interceptions.

Rasheed Muhammad has rushed for 521 yards and five touchdowns on 101 carries.
