There’s a new No. 1 in the ThisWeek boys basketball Super 7 in Hilliard Bradley, while Pickerington Central remains on top in the girls rankings.

The Jaguars are 3-0, including shutting down Thomas Worthington 44-16 on Dec. 8.

Pickerington North, which was No. 1 in the preseason boys Super 7, dropped to 1-2 with an 81-75 overtime loss Dec. 9 to South Bend (Indiana) Riley, which went 19-3 a season ago.

The Panthers, however, beat OCC-Ohio Division rival and sister school Pickerington Central 59-41 on Dec. 8 and are ranked No. 2.

The Tigers, who are without two of their top players because of injury, fell to No. 5.

Entering the boys rankings is Westerville South, which is 3-0 and has wins over Gahanna (61-58 on Dec. 1) and Olentangy (69-60 on Dec. 8).

The Central and Dublin Coffman girls both are 4-1 but have been impressive overall. The Tigers have a win over Gahanna (59-53 on Dec. 5), which was seventh in the preseason rankings.

Coffman lost 59-53 at defending Division I state champion Cincinnati Mount Notre on Dec. 9.

New to the girls poll is Eastmoor Academy, which beat Gahanna 54-48 on Dec. 2 and is 4-0.
