For the first time, we have two Players of the Week.

Westland quarterback DeShawn Evans won the fan poll on Twitter, earning 36 percent of the 1,201 votes cast over 24 hours. Evans completed 26 of 44 passes for 334 yards and five touchdowns in the Cougars’ 46-44 double-overtime loss to Marion-Franklin on Aug. 31.

Also that night, Ready running back Jack Foley rushed for 174 yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries, including the game-winning 2-yard score with 27 seconds remaining, in a 30-23 victory over West Jefferson. Foley won the vote of the staff.

The other two candidates were Pickerington North quarterback Mike Lowery and Upper Arlington running back Chris Schweisthal.
