Tommy Bair’s standout performance for the Watterson High School football team Sept. 7 has earned him our Player of the Week honor.

The junior running back rushed 14 times for 80 yards and one touchdown – the game-winning score from 21 yards with 13 seconds left – and had six catches for 160 yards, including a 58-yard touchdown, in a 25-20 win over Cuyahoga Falls Walsh Jesuit.

Not only did Bair win the vote of the staff, he also ran away with our Twitter poll, receiving 73 percent of 5,462 votes over 24 hours.

The other candidates were Dublin Coffman’s Mike Drennen, Hartley’s Jalan January and Central Crossing’s Anthony Lowe.
