Macy Spielman needed fewer than two games of her senior season to become the Upper Arlington High School girls basketball team’s all-time leading scorer.
Spielman scored 18 points Nov. 28 in an 81-49 home loss to Newark and took over first place on the program’s all-time scoring list early in the fourth quarter.
Spielman, a 5-foot-10 guard and Bowling Green recruit, now has 1,131 career points, two more than both 2004 graduate Michele DeVault and 2016 graduate Kortney Eisenman.
“It’s definitely a cool accomplishment but I don’t want to get caught up in it,” Spielman said before the season. “I have to give credit to my teammates and my coaching staff and the community for supporting me along the way. I couldn’t have done it without them.”
UA fell to 1-1 with the loss. The Bears will play at Northland on Dec. 1.
