Former Worthington Kilbourne High School boys lacrosse coach Mike Riffee is returning to the team.

Riffee has been named interim coach for the 2019 season in place of Mike Lippert, who resigned earlier this fall after one season as coach.

Athletics director Jeff Todd said he will conduct a coaching search following the 2019 season.

Riffee coached the Wolves in 2007 and 2008 and was a co-coach in 2009 when Kilbourne won its first state championship. He had a 55-13 record with the Wolves.

Lippert resigned to spend more time with his growing family. His wife is expecting their second child.

Last spring, the Wolves finished 17-6 overall, won the OCC-Cardinal Division title at 6-0 and reached a Division I state semifinal, where they lost to eventual state champion Cincinnati St. Xavier 18-8.

Lippert was named league Coach of the Year.
