The Northeast Storm club hockey team lost its final four regular-season games, but will try to reverse its fortunes when it takes on Hilliard in the first round of the Blue Jackets Cup on Friday, Feb. 15, at Chiller Dublin.
Northeast is 18-20-3 overall and went 8-14-2 with 18 points in Ohio Scholastic Hockey League regular-season play, finishing sixth. The Wildcats are seeded third in the Blue Jackets Cup.
The Storm dropped two games last weekend, 4-1 to PHA on Feb. 9 at Chiller North and 5-4 the next day to Westerville at OhioHealth Ice Haus.
Northeast lost to two of the top three teams in the OSHL the previous weekend, falling to Hilliard 5-1 on Feb. 1 at Chiller Easton and Newark 2-0 on Feb. 3 at OhioHealth Ice Haus.
Damon Warren leads the Storm with 29 goals, ahead of Ryan Pasqualetti with 17 and Noah Luehmann and Philip Luehmann with 16 each.
Warren also leads Northeast in points with 40, followed by Noah Luehmann (39) and Philip Luehmann (32).
The Blue Jackets Cup begins Friday, Feb. 15. Games take place Saturday, Feb. 16, and Sunday, Feb. 17, and the following weekend, culminating in the final game Feb. 24.
The regular-season league champion earns a first-round bye in the double-elimination event.
