Africentric Early College senior Jordan Horston added another accomplishment to her stellar girls basketball career.

With 14 points, four rebounds and three steals, Horston earned MVP honors for the East All-Stars as her team beat the West 83-68 in the McDonald’s All-American Game on March 27 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta.

The Division III state Player of the Year, a finalist for Ohio Ms. Basketball and a Tennessee signee, Horston helped Africentric go 28-0 and earn its third Division III state title in four seasons earlier this month.

“It’s a blessing, but at the end of the day we’re all MVPs,” Horston told USA Today. “I’m just honored to even be here. I’m a fan of all of these girls.”

Mason’s Sammie Puisis scored 11 points and Toledo Rogers’ Zia Cooke had nine points and seven rebounds for the East team.

For the West, Canton McKinley’s Kierstan Bell — Ohio’s Ms. Basketball the last three seasons — had five points on 2-for-8 shooting.
