Dublin Coffman junior Ellie Andrews will be a member of the U.S. Junior swimming team at the FINA World Championships held Aug. 20-25 in Budapest, Hungary.
In the U.S. National Championships held July 31-Aug. 4 at Stanford, Andrews finished seventh in both the 100-meter breaststroke and 200 breast. She swam the 200 breast in 2 minutes, 29.02 seconds Aug. 1 and the 100 breast in 1:08.37 on Aug. 3.
She is ranked No. 1 in the nation among 16-year-olds in both events.
Last winter, Andrews captured the Division I state championship in the 200-yard individual medley and was runner-up in the 100 breast. She also swam on the runner-up 400 freestyle relay and the fourth-place 200 medley relay as Coffman finished fourth.
