Shawn Bray has been named Watterson softball coach.

Bray, who has coached at the travel level and with the Jonathan Alder junior high program, takes over an Eagles team that went 31-20 in two seasons under Emily Manahan.

Watterson finished 17-10 and was a Division I district runner-up last spring under Manahan, who stepped down in September.

“Shawn comes to Bishop Watterson having spent years in the Plain City Jonathan Alder program and also is a very successful travel softball coach,” athletics director Doug Etgen said in a statement. “His knowledge of the game and history of player development is impressive.”
