Kurt Restuccio has been named Pickerington North boys lacrosse coach, pending school board approval, athletics director Molly Feesler announced Oct. 24.

Restuccio, who served as junior varsity coach the past two seasons and previously had coached at Lakeview Junior High and in Westerville schools, is a fifth- and sixth-grade visual arts teacher at Diley and Harmon middle schools.

“As a teacher in the district, I’m very grateful for another opportunity to work with our students. Not only have I had the chance to see many of our players grow in the game of lacrosse, but a few were even in my first ever class here in Pickerington,” Restuccio said. “With our previous assistant coaches returning, I couldn’t ask for a more knowledgeable support staff to go along with me on this ride.”

Restuccio replaces Tyler Nelson, who went 14-22 overall and 6-8 in the OCC-Central Division in two seasons. According to Feesler, Nelson resigned after a promotion in his full-time job meant he would be unable to continue coaching.

“Kurt is experienced, knowledgeable and has a good relationship with students,” Feesler said. “These are all of the qualities that we want in our coaching staff. With an emerging sport such as lacrosse, keeping consistency is an important key to future success.”
