Ohio High School Athletic Association executive director Jerry Snodgrass will meet with the media at noon Thursday, March 19, to provide updates on winter tournaments and spring sports, the OHSAA said in a press release March 16.
All high school sports events in Ohio are on hold because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Snodgrass announced March 12 that the remaining winter tournaments -- state girls basketball, regional boys basketball, state hockey and state wrestling -- were postponed indefinitely. The next day, the OHSAA implemented a mandatory “no-contact period” from March 17 through April 5 for spring athletes and coaches.
On the order of Gov. Mike DeWine, Ohio schools are closed through April 3.
The OHSAA press conference will be streamed live through OHSAA.tv and its social media platforms -- @OHSAASports on Twitter and Facebook.
“OHSAA member schools are encouraged to watch the press conference, as Snodgrass will respond to some of the frequently asked questions from the past several days,” the press release said.
