Pam Hartford has been named girls basketball coach at Dublin Jerome, pending school board approval.

After serving as an assistant for 14 seasons at Watterson, including the last nine years under Tom Woodford, Hartford will take over the Celtics after Natalie Herring stepped down in late April.

“I’m very excited to be joining the Dublin Jerome High School community,” Hartford said. “The girls basketball program had a very strong season last year. Though a few key players have graduated, the team is in a nice position to continue the upward growth of the program.”

Jerome went 40-53 in four seasons under Herring, including 15-10 last winter for its first winning season since she took over for the 2016-17 season. The Celtics also made it to a Division I district semifinal for the second time, with the other taking place in Herring’s first season.

“Coach Hartford brings a vast amount of basketball experience and enthusiasm for the game,” athletics director Joe Bline said.
