German Village: Woman assaulted while shooting video of party
A woman said she was robbed at 2:30 a.m. July 11 while filming a house party at a short-term rental on the 200 block of East Sycamore Avenue, according to Columbus Division of Police incident reports.
She told police the neighbors have been having problems with loud parties at the location and was advised by rental-company officials to record the incident and submit it to the business to get the property shutdown.
She said that while she was recording the property, two people sprayed her with a chemical irritant and took her $400 cellphone, which, she said, also served as her wallet, and fled the area in an unknown direction.
She said she went back to her house and called police but was advised by the radio-room dispatcher that she would have to file a report online. The victim reported she sustained minor injuries and did not seek medical attention.
