Whitehall: Preteen boy charged after trespassing at splash pad

An 11-year-old boy was charged with criminal mischief and criminal trespassing after Whitehall police responded to a report of breaking and entering at the city's splash pad at John Bishop Park, 4856 Etna Road, shortly after 5 p.m. July 27.

No further information was available, and the incident remained under investigation July 28, according to reports.

In other recent Whitehall police reports:

* Police arrested a 24-year-old Columbus man for disorderly conduct, a 22-year-old Columbus man for possession of marijuana, disorderly conduct and outstanding warrants, a 25-year-old Columbus woman for disorderly conduct and a 25-year-old Whitehall woman for disorderly conduct at 6:35 p.m. July 26 on the 900 block of South Hamilton Road.

* Police arrested a 65-year-old man for aggravated menacing and domestic violence after responding to a report of a person with a gun at 5:05 p.m. July 27 on the 800 block of Pierce Avenue.

* A burglary was reported at 9:40 p.m. July 24 on the 4300 block of Doney Street.

* Thefts were reported at 6 p.m. July 29 on the 400 block of South Yearling Road; and at 3:15 p.m. July 29 on the 5200 block of East Main Street.

* Vehicles were reported stolen at 8:35 p.m. July 22 on the 600 block of South Hamilton Road; and at 10:30 a.m. July 22 on the 200 block of South Hamilton Road.

* Property destruction was reported at 8:25 p.m. July 23 on the 3800 block of East Main Street; and at 9:30 a.m. July 25 on the 1000 block of Great Oak Drive.
