Post office in Hilliard evacuated after vehicle accident causes gas leak

A driver who evidently had a medical emergency struck a gas meter Tuesday, Sept. 15, at the U.S. Postal Service office at 4000 Leap Road in Hilliard.

The U.S. Postal Service office at 4000 Leap Road in Hilliard has been evacuated because of a gas leak caused by an automobile accident, according to Norwich Township Fire Department Chief Jeff Warren.

First responders from the fire department and Hilliard Division of Police are on the scene, Warren said.

The post office and a nearby medical office were evacuated as a precaution, he said.
