New Albany: Cash, items stolen from open garage, unlocked vehicles
More than $1,600 in cash and several items were reported stolen at 7:48 a.m. Aug. 17 at a residence on the 4400 block of Ackerly Farm Road, according to the New Albany Police Department.
The residents told officers that sometime overnight, two vehicles parked at the residence were entered, and items were taken from them, according to the police report. The garage door was up and both vehicles were unlocked, the report said.
Eight credit cards, a $1,000 gift card, $1,610 in cash, insurance cards and a driver's license were reported stolen, along with a bicycle that had been hanging in the garage.
In addition, sunglasses were reported stolen at 9:09 a.m. the same day from an unlocked vehicle on the same block.
In other recent New Albany police incident reports:
* A resident on the 4300 block of Olmsted Road at 11:02 a.m. Aug. 22 reported someone bent a window screen, possibly in an attempt to remove it from the frame.
* A 53-year-old Reynoldsburg woman was arrested for OVI after officers at 9:23 p.m. Aug. 20 investigated a crash on the 8400 block of Central College Road.
* Menacing by stalking was reported at 1:08 p.m. Aug. 17 at Belmont Place.
* A 22-year-old Columbus man was arrested for OVI after a traffic stop at 1:45 a.m. Aug. 17 at Johnstown Road and Zarley Street.
