Have you noticed the motto "our family protecting yours" on our fire engines?

The fire department formed a committee five years ago to create a strategic plan to help identify goals. One of the goals was to create a motto for our organization, and we felt it was essential to identify a simple phrase that defined what we genuinely believed.

"Our family protecting yours" is a message to residents that we will always protect your family as if they were our own.

When it comes to our department, many of our firefighters have deep roots in this community. There currently are 84 full-time firefighters, and most of us have grown up in Grove City and have families here.

Because of this, there is a significant amount of pride we feel while protecting and serving you, our extended family.

The safety and well-being of our community is our No. 1 priority.

Not only do we extinguish fires and assist you during medical emergencies, but we also offer several educational activities to ensure your safety. Besides fire prevention at local schools, we offer cardiopulmonary resuscitation, automated-external defibrillator and first-aid classes, child seat safety checks, home-safety inspections, public education and our CARES program, to name a few.

All of our firefighters are trained to the state's highest standards and are continually learning the most up-to-date emergency medical service, fire and rescue techniques so we are prepared to provide our best service in your time of need.

Several times throughout the year, our firefighters and emergency medical technicians protect the community at events held throughout Grove City, and it always has been our goal to have a permanent presence at these events. We believe it is essential to interact with residents and be able to provide emergency services promptly if needed.

The Jackson Township Fire Department continually strives to provide the best possible service to our entire community. It is the continual support we have received throughout the years from area residents that allow us to do this. Our fire-department family is forever grateful. Have a safe and happy summer.
