Reynoldsburg to start flushing fire hydrants Aug. 17

The Reynoldsburg Water Department will begin flushing fire hydrants Aug. 17, according to an Aug. 14 news release from the city.
The work, which will be conducted between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m., is expected to take two weeks, the release said.
"It is advised that customers refrain from doing laundry during and up to two hours afterwards," the release said.
According to an Aug. 6 post on the city's website, some people might notice low pressure or discolored, rusty water while hydrants are flushed in their neighborhoods.
"Users may notice that the water is cloudy for a short time during and after this flushing program," the online post said. "Although the water may be cloudy, it is safe to drink. However, we advise residents to run cold water for about two minutes prior to doing any laundry."
